Frerichs raises more than $55K for Meals on Wheels
Yolo County District 2 Supervisor Lucas Frerichs celebrated his 45th birthday on June 27 with 250 friends, family, colleagues and community members at his “Party with a Purpose” at Sudwerk Brewing Co. in Davis.
Over $55,000 and counting was raised for Meals on Wheels Yolo County through party ticket purchases and donations.
"Supervisor Frerichs' leadership to prioritize the nutrition needs of vulnerable seniors in Yolo County for his 'Party With a Purpose' is impressive and the success of the celebration was beyond all expectations,” Meals on Wheels Yolo County Executive Director Joy Cohan told The Enterprise. “That his friends, his colleagues, and so many community members agree that Meals on Wheels Yolo County's intention that every senior 'Eat Well, Age Well' is worthy of their support is both an honor and an inspiration to sustain and grow our impact. We're abundantly grateful to the supervisor and his staff for making this outcome possible.”
Attendees were treated to live music, delicious drinks and special bites from Meals on Wheels as part of the festivities.
“My birthday party with a purpose, benefiting Meals on Wheels Yolo County, was a huge success,” said Frerichs. “It was a gorgeous evening at Sudwerk, with rocking music from Mike Blanchard and the Californios and a crowd of incredible friends, colleagues and community members coming together for a common cause.”
