SUSTAINING SENIORS: EAT WELL, AGE WELL IN 2025

Sustaining Yolo County's rapidly growing senior population by sustaining MOW Yolo to create healthier outcomes for Yolo County seniors, prioritizing nutritious food security and socialization in our cities and rural communities.

In 2025, MOW Yolo is providing more than 1,000 aging adults in the region with the opportunity to age in place safely and with dignity.  However, resources to sustain this impact increasingly are scarce, as one-time pandemic-era support has ended.  Your donations of funds, time, and talent provide needed sustenance so MOW Yolo can continue to pursue:

  • Fresh, local nutritious food
  • Medically-tailored and culturally-appropriate meals
  • Expanded congregate dining options
  • More rural meal access

Senior Spotlight: Eclare Hannifen

Isolated, vulnerable, food insecure seniors like Eclare depend upon MOW Yolo for their very lives. These aging adults are most at risk in the threatening fiscal environment surrounding MOW Yolo's ability to sustain nutrition services in an unprecedented era of cuts to government support. Private philanthropy is more critical than ever to sustaining seniors to Eat Well Age Well.

"My budget doesn't extend far and I eat only one meal a day, the one delivered by Meals on Wheels Yolo County. It's literally a lifesaver."

- Eclare Hannifen, Woodland meal recipient.
